Woodblock Print in the Traditional Japanese Style, Moku Hanga, with Instructors Larry Pinto and Maria Udo

Workshop details;
Everyone will learn how to make a print from pre-prepared wood blocks and come away with a print. Participants will study examples of landscapes done using the woodblock technique, which dates back to ancient China, Germany and Japan. All materials are provided to include washi, Japanese mulberry bark paper, to make prints, using several colors and two blocks of wood, applying the pigment and rice paste binder.
Gelli Plate Printmaking, Concertina Bookmaking with Socorro Mucino
The workshop will introduce you to printmaking. Art makers will create a “Concertina”, or accordion book using printmaking techniques using GELLI plates, acrylic paints and stencils.

Cyanotype Print Workshop with Beth Adler
Learn printmaking basics you can do at home and walk away with your very own cyanotype! Learn how to make beautiful Prussian blue prints on paper using a UV light source in this 2 hour workshop. Each participant will have a chance to make a few prints to take home. Bring your own stencils, large negatives on film, cutouts, or objects that make a good silhouette that can press pretty flat, or pick from my collection. All supplies are included. Craig Jobson with Lark Sparrow Press, is hosting an Artist Talk & Studio Tour at his printing studio in Evanston, IL
Lark Sparrow Press is a private press that handprints books, broadsides, and stamps. Unlike mass produced books you may find at a local bookstore, the books printed at Lark Sparrow Press are meticulously crafted with handset metal type, handmade papers, and bound by hand. The covers are made by hand using a variety of materials, and final editions are in sets of 2 – 60.
